Senior Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centres

I’m working with a leading contractor in the data centre sector who are looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen their London-based team.

This role offers the chance to take on a lead position in delivering complex, mission-critical projects across the UK and Europe, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping best practice in design.

The role

• Lead mechanical and/or electrical design delivery on major data centre projects.
• Oversee project documentation, compliance, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with consultants, project managers, and clients throughout project lifecycle.
• Provide leadership and mentorship within a growing engineering team.
• Drive innovation in sustainable design and energy-efficient systems.

The profile we’re seeking

• 8+ years’ experience in mechanical or electrical design, ideally within mission-critical or data centre environments.
• Strong background in design delivery within a contractor setting.
• Demonstrable team leadership and mentoring experience.
• Chartered (CEng) or working towards this is advantageous.

What’s on offer

• Salary in the region of £70,000 – £100,000, dependent on experience.
