Software Engineer - Finance & AI Systems

(Permanent | Remote across Ireland or UK | Competitive salary + benefits)

We're partnering with an award-winning financial technology company that's expanding its engineering team as they continue to modernise their platform and explore the use of AI within their product suite.

You'll be part of a team building secure, scalable finance and HR solutions used by thousands of businesses daily, working with modern .NET technologies and contributing to the integration of AI into their product roadmap.

This isn't a big faceless enterprise role, it's a close-knit engineering team where ideas get implemented quickly, innovation is encouraged, and the quality of the product always comes first.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and enhancing core finance and HR functionality in C#/.NET.

  • Contributing to the evolution of existing desktop and cloud-based products.

  • Designing and delivering AI-powered features that improve automation, accuracy, and customer experience.

  • Writing clean, maintainable code with a focus on performance and scalability.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and QA.

  • Participating in peer reviews, sprint planning, and architectural discussions.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in C#/.NET software development.

  • Solid understanding of desktop or SaaS application architecture.

  • Proven track record of delivering production-level software in a commercial environment.

  • Previous hands-on experience with AI, ML, or related technologies (e.g. model integration, data-driven automation, intelligent assistants).

  • Familiarity with databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar).

  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment.

  • Strong communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to finance, fintech, or compliance-based software.

  • Experience working with cross-platform applications or modern desktop frameworks (e.g. WPF, MAUI).

  • Interest in LLMs, data processing, and how AI can improve user experience in enterprise tools.

If you're a curious and capable engineer who enjoys building robust software and wants to help shape how AI transforms an established product used by thousands, this is a brilliant opportunity.
