Responsibilities

• Lead performance testing across key services in an agile team with a pragmatic, strategic mindset focused on systems scalability and sustainability.
• Conduct performance testing of APIs, UIs, microservices and enterprise databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Identify performance bottlenecks across application and infrastructure layers with detailed working knowledge and practical experience.
• Use performance testing tools (JMeter and K6) and performance monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana, Kiali, Prometheus and AWS CloudWatch.
• Apply IaC and modern DevOps practices in performance testing processes.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Performance Test Engineer or Lead in an agile environment, with a focus on system scalability and sustainability.
• Extensive experience in performance testing of APIs, UIs, microservices and databases.
• Familiarity with IaC and modern DevOps practices.
• Proficiency with JMeter or K6 and AWS, Kubernetes, and Git pipelines.

Location: You’ll join us in one of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model — you’ll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating in a hub.

Pay: Up to £71,017.

Pension: Employer contributions worth 28.97% (worth over £16,000 per year).

Holidays: 26 days to start, rising to 31 days over time. Up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time, plus public holidays.
