Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance.
- Identifying planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements alongside identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme.
- Tender: collaboratively develop and agree on a strategic and optimized sequence and methodology, ensuring the most efficient design, procurement, and construction strategy for successful delivery of the works.
- Meticulously produce and document comprehensive planning deliverables, including programs, planning philosophy, presentations, and reports; develop the Tender Programme and supporting information with adherence to tender requirements.
- Contract: at the contract stage, produce, manage, and maintain the Contract Programme with advanced expertise.
- Collaborate with the Planning/Project Lead to optimize strategic planning elements and adhere to planning procedures.
- Display and evaluate the project critical path, advise the project team of results and corrective actions, and produce and maintain project baselines while executing the change control process.
- Resource Management: manage labour, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet project objectives while minimizing costs.
- Contract Management: manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, monitor performance, and resolve contract-related issues.
- Strategic Planning Oversight and Mentorship: provide strategic planning oversight and mentor less experienced planners, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Data Analysis: assist the planning team to produce project data and KPIs to track progress, identify deviations, and drive data-informed project improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction scheduling and resource management; proficiency with Primavera P6 and substations is highly desirable.
- Advanced competence in project management tools such as Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6, or ASTA.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of project scheduling and planning, including developing and managing complex project schedules using industry-standard tools.
- Knowledge of various forms of tender and contract documents, and specifications.
- Knowledge of risk management in project programmes (e.g., TRA, QSRA).
- Experience in managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in leading planning efforts for construction projects and delivering successful project outcomes.
