Experience with Primavera P6 and substations is highly desirable.Why usBe part of a £192M flagship project powering the future.Work in a collaborative and innovative environment.Make a tangible impact in the renewable energy sector.What you'll be doingEnsuring that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance.Identifying planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements alongside identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme.Tender: Collaboratively develop and agree on a strategic and optimized sequence and methodology, ensuring the implementation of the most efficient design, procurement, and construction strategy for the successful delivery of the works.Apply advanced expertise to produce and document comprehensive planning deliverables, including programs, planning philosophy, presentations, and reports. Develop the Tender Programme and supporting information, ensuring strict adherence to tender requirements with precision and strategic insight.Contract: At the contract stage, the Senior Planner ensures meticulous production, management, and maintenance of the Contract Programme.Adhere to planning procedures and collaborate with the Planning/Project Lead to optimize strategic planning elements.Display and evaluate the project critical path, advise the project team of results and any corrective action, and produce and maintain project baselines while executing the change control process.Resource Management: Manage labour, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet project objectives while minimizing costs.Contract Management: Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, monitor performance, and resolve contract-related issues.Strategic Planning Oversight and Mentorship: Provide strategic planning oversight by leveraging advanced scheduling techniques and mentor less experienced planners to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.Data Analysis: Aid the planning team to produce project data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify deviations, and make data-driven decisions for project improvement.Who we're looking forAdvanced competence in project management tools and software like Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6 or ASTA.Comprehensive understanding of construction project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.Advanced knowledge and expertise in project scheduling and planning, including the ability to develop and manage complex project schedules using industry-standard tools.Knowledge of various forms of tender and contract documents, and specifications.Knowledge of risk management in project programmes: TRA, QSRA, etc.Experience in managing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in leading planning efforts for construction projects, displaying a track record of successful project delivery.Why work for usDay in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.As a business, Balfour Beatty is committed to supporting our staff in attaining and maintaining their chosen professional accreditation, along with reimbursing annual professional membership fees.Competitive Salary37.5 hours Monday to FridayCompany DC pension scheme up to 5% Employee and 7% EmployerCompany carHybrid working25 days holiday plus bank holidaysBroad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualificationsEmployee assistance programmeUp to 2 days volunteering per yearAbout usOur skilled and dedicated teams deliver a range of proactive and reactive services which support a reliable and safe supply of power flowing to millions of homes and businesses around the world.
