Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our client's innovative team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of cutting-edge power conversion systems, leveraging wide-bandgap semiconductors and high-frequency magnetics for next-generation applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and optimisation of planar magnetics , including PCB winding layout and electromagnetic simulation for high-density power converters.
Design and test high-voltage LLC DC-DC converters operating above 500V, ensuring high efficiency and compact form factor.
Work extensively with 650V and 1200V SiC and GaN devices , including selection, thermal management, and performance characterisation.
Develop high-frequency gate driver circuits (up to 1 MHz) and associated auxiliary power supplies to support robust and fast switching.
