Overview

Think Recruitment are currently working with a market leading engineering consultancy who, due to continued growth, are looking to recruit an experienced Civil Engineer at either Senior or Principal level.

Our client are a forward-thinking organisation who have built an amazing team over the past 10 years, delivering a variety of interesting and technically challenging projects for clients across the UK. The Civil Engineer will take a lead role in technical responsibility for civil engineering design delivery and act as Project Manager / Design Manager for the consultancy services, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering design delivery, acting as Project Manager / Design Manager for consultancy services.
  • Develop fee proposals and bids; assist with new project lead generation.
  • Manage project change control and negotiate fee variations with clients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff; provide proactive problem-solving advice and consult with clients, staff, and statutory bodies (Building Control, NHBC, Planning Authorities, Highway Authorities, Environment Agency, Statutory Undertakers, etc.).
  • Utilise software including Civils 3D, PDS or Site 3D, Microdrainage or Flow, and AutoCAD; maintain high technical standards aligned with project brief.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations and drawings; develop concept designs and oversee all projects under direction; undertake site visits for inspections or site investigations.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Proven background in consultancy or a related field with experience suitable for Senior or Principal level.
  • Experience leading projects and managing design delivery within a consultancy context.
  • Ability to prepare fee proposals, bids, and manage client negotiations.
  • Strong mentoring and stakeholder management skills; effective communication with clients, colleagues, and authorities.
  • Proficiency in Civils 3D, PDS/Site 3D, Microdrainage or Flow, and AutoCAD; ability to maintain high technical standards.
  • Willingness to conduct site visits and inspections as part of project delivery.
