Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer (Building Services) role at Arup. Location: Birmingham or Nottingham.

The Opportunity
As a Senior / Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer you will play a key role in delivering client requirements. You will work with project leadership to oversee technical engineering and project delivery. Your Electrical Engineering background will guide the technical direction of projects and help team members reach their potential. You will have opportunities to use digital tools from Microsoft and Autodesk, and you can help Arup create new tools to improve design processes and client delivery. You will work in project groups, supported by geographical discipline teams, with global networks for development and research.
You will communicate progress, issues and risks to the client, Project Manager and internally, support the Project Manager to control budgets, milestones and targets (time, cost, quality and safety) and ensure objectives are met in line with programme plans.
Responsibilities
- Leading Arup multi-disciplinary design teams from project inception through to completion
- Communicating designs with clients and collaborators
- Working with Internal teams to deliver holistic design solutions
- Managing the design programme
- Chairing internal and external design team meetings
- Keeping up to date with current legislation and regulations
- Supporting the Project Director to ensure commercial success
Qualifications and Skills
- Chartered Engineers (or near Chartership via IET or CIBSE) with strong electrical building services design experience
- Proven experience managing and delivering multi-disciplinary design projects within a consultancy; values quality and delivery
- Proficient in BIM and digital design tools; Revit MEP experience highly desirable
- Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
- Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering high-quality, technically excellent electrical designs & innovative solutions for built environments
