Responsibilities
Join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team to design and advise clients on the next-generation tunnel systems technology that will build the transport networks of the future.
Provide end-to-end tunnel asset design and advisory services, guided by a safety-by-design philosophy and strong operational focus.
Apply your technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, road tunnel operations and safety to deliver prestigious new-build and refurbishment tunnel systems projects across road, rail and utilities in the UK and beyond for clients including Local Authorities, National Highways and National Grid.
Collaborate with designers and WSP multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs that meet client expectations.
Qualifications
A proven technical capability in the design, operation or delivery of tunnel systems including electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, communications, and control systems.
Experience of working to applicable UK standards.
An understanding of tunnel operational procedures and practices.
Professional registration with an accredited institute is preferred. If you are on a route to professional registration, you will be supported with mentoring and Professional Registration Advisors to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
A proven track record of collaborating with internal and external partners on integrated highway technology projects.
A practical understanding of infrastructure design systems, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), AutoCAD (or similar), ProjectWise and SharePoint.
Ability to motivate, develop and lead junior team members, encouraging growth and performance.
Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated when undertaking tasks.
