We are seeking a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing, collaborative team in the UK. This role offers scope for career progression and the flexibility of a balance between home and office work.

Overview

Stantec's Environmental Services Team works with clients to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient solutions. You will support the delivery of UK infrastructure programmes, primarily in the water sector, with key clients such as Southern Water, Yorkshire Water, and United Utilities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams and provide support and advice to contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of UK infrastructure programmes, primarily in the water sector.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
  • Provide support and advice to contractors.
  • Prepare desk studies for proposed construction sites, including data collection, site inspections, and drafting reports.
  • Prepare interpretative geotechnical reports for ground investigations and analyze geotechnical structures.
  • Contribute to quality geotechnical solutions for clients and support project delivery in a leading capacity where appropriate.

About You / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related subject.
  • Chartered member or working toward membership of a relevant institution (e.g., ICE or Geological Society).
  • Experience preparing desk studies, site investigations, and interpretative geotechnical reports.
  • Experience analyzing geotechnical structures.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions and client-focused outcomes.
