OverviewAre you a Mechanical Engineer, with a background in finite element analysis, who thrives on difficult problems and leading projects? You may head up projects and guide junior engineers while solving energy industry challenges across a variety of clients, from extending the life of reactors to enabling renewable energy projects and supporting submarine and SMR programmes.You will be engaged in developing engineering solutions to challenging problems, delivering right-first-time results while juggling multiple projects across the energy sector. If you are a self-starter who can deliver multiple projects simultaneously and work closely with clients and internal teams, we’d love to hear from you.Your PurposeWork within small to medium sized multidisciplinary teams.Collaborate in a collaborative and supportive office/site environment for a minimum of half of your working week.Bring commercial awareness to deliver tasks for multiple workstreams to time, quality, and cost.What you can bringDegree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification).Experience delivering complex stress analyses or structural integrity assessments (thermal-mechanical, fracture, fatigue, creep, impact).Experience writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports (e.g., assessment reports, basis of analysis, safety case references).Comfortable engaging with existing and prospective clients, visiting sites, and understanding their issues, goals, and processes.Experience or interest in: working or authoring bids in safety-critical and highly regulated environments; working with relevant codes (ASME III, RCC-M, BS7910, R3, R5, R6, etc.); workflow automation (ideally Python); Chartered status or nearing registration.Why work for AtkinsRéalis?The UK is committed to Net Zero by 2050.
