Vertical Recruitment is working closely with an award-winning Independent Structural Engineering Consultancy. The business remained strong throughout 2020 and now, due to a significant project win, they can offer the chance to work on a £1 billion landmark regeneration project. This includes several high-rise buildings for residential, retail, and commercial use.

The business is looking to appoint a Senior to Principal level Structural Engineer into their well-established and successful design team in Central Manchester.

Working closely with Directors, the Principal Engineer will contribute to the operational delivery of projects, manage client relationships, and oversee a team. There is also an opportunity to develop managerial skills with a view to taking on a fuller managerial role in the future.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage engineering designs in line with client requirements
2. Review designs produced by junior staff
3. Lead technical delivery of projects and provide supervision and guidance to less experienced staff
4. Serve as the recognized point of contact for clients on projects
5. Assist in the day-to-day management and control of projects, including financial management, compliance checks, environmental, and health and safety procedures
6. Attend and conduct meetings

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

1. Degree qualified in civil or structural engineering
2. Chartered MIStructE
3. Proven experience in technical competence, conducting meetings, and working effectively as part of a team
4. Experience working in a consultancy environment
5. Knowledge of Residential, Student Accommodation, Mixed-use, Hotels, sports, and leisure projects
