Senior Process Engineer

My client, a market-leading Civil Engineering Consultancy specializing in wastewater and design, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative water and wastewater treatment projects, contribute to cutting-edge solutions, and advance into leadership roles.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will lead or support process design for sewage treatment works across feasibility, outline, and detailed design phases. Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing key documents such as:

1. Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
2. Mass and energy balances
3. Process calculations and sizing
4. Design Basis Reports (DBRs) and P&IDs
5. Ensuring designs meet client specifications

You will also provide CAD support for drafting and editing PFDs, P&IDs, and layouts, contribute to the development of digital process design templates, tender documents, and proposals, and participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and HAZOPs.

Candidates should have a degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, experience working for a UK-based consultancy specializing in wastewater or sewage treatment using AutoCAD, and experience managing comprehensive process design documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, control strategies). Familiarity with UK water industry frameworks and standards (e.g., WIMES, Sewers for Adoption), along with a strong understanding of biological and chemical treatment processes, sludge treatment, and odour control, is essential.
