Senior Product Engineer, MA Products Team, Systems & Solutions (SaS) - MP&FS DG Division at Bank of England. Location: Leeds.

Responsibilities

  • Enable critical processes for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and Financial Policy Committee (FPC), delivering data-driven solutions that influence the nation's financial landscape.
  • Contribute to the Systems & Solutions Domain by turning complex business needs into high-performing data platforms and cloud-based solutions that support real-time insights, predictive analytics, and decision making.
  • Collaborate across subject areas to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle and participate in peer reviews.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Azure services, especially Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Practical expertise in Python for scripting, automation, and data workflows
  • Familiarity with APIs and API Management to enable seamless data integration
  • A good understanding of Change Data Capture processes and maintaining high data quality standards
  • Experience building and maintaining ADF data pipelines or similar ETL tools on the Cloud
  • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies using industry-standard tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience in unit testing and automating them as part of the build
  • A working understanding of merge strategies and software code maintenance & versioning (GitHub)

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience using Macrobond for financial research and data visualisation
  • Experience of statistical analysis software packages such as Matlab and R
  • Awareness of regulatory and compliance considerations in financial data systems

Salary and Benefits

Salary: Leeds circa £55,280 - £62,190. Benefits include a non-contributory, career-average pension; discretionary performance award; benefits allowance; annual leave; private medical insurance and income protection. Part-time options and flexible benefits are available.

Additional Information

The role is subject to National Security Vetting clearance and Bank checks. The Bank is an approved sponsor under UK immigration rules; eligibility for sponsorship is considered on a case-by-case basis. The application process comprises two interview stages and closes on 24 September 2025.
