The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre supports projects across the full lifecycle, including Programme and Project Management, Project Planning, Cost Engineering, Risk Management, and Commercial Disciplines. Projects range from several hundred thousand pounds to over £200M.

Role overview

We are expanding the Defence portfolio and seeking project controls professionals with an emphasis on planning to join our team. Note: Due to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project schedules that support and align with project requirements.
  • Develop project schedules in conjunction with the project manager and project team.
  • Reduce uncertainty, clarify objectives, and improve efficiency.
  • Interact with and assist project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Assist project managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes and procedures.
  • Assist project team to develop status reports to keep management informed on progress.
  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.

Qualifications

You will have professional Project Controls experience, specialising in Planning & Scheduling across the full project lifecycle. Proficiency with Primavera (P6) and other planning/resourcing software. Ability to coordinate with other teams and multi-disciplinary knowledge.

  • Have a degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Be a member of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, PMI).
  • Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example.
  • Have strong stakeholder management experience.

Working arrangements

Turner & Townsend recognises the importance of work-life balance with hybrid working. You will be on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices approximately 60% of the time, subject to business and client requirements.

Security clearance

As noted, you must be a SOLE UK National able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Many clients/projects require MoD clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency. See GOV.UK for details.
