Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased Senior Project Engineer, based from either Sheffield or Leeds, to work on a project with sites in Wakefield and Barnsley. The project is a refurbishment of a live data centre, starting in the summer and expected to run for around 18 months, with potential for further work. There may be occasional travel to Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the project in your area of responsibility, ensuring activities are engineered to specification, delivered safely, profitably and to customer satisfaction.
• Ensure that safety is the priority on all activities on the project.
• Participate in pre-commencement activities to maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability.
• Review the project scope of works to ensure precise provision of the customer’s requirements.
• Identify project risks and opportunities and mitigate or enhance them as appropriate.
• Procure and deliver engineering solutions to meet financial and commercial objectives.
• Provide accurate and timely information on site progress to the Project Manager and Commercial Lead.
• Manage any sub-contract resources if applicable.
• Provide leadership to project team members within your area of control, maximise performance and ensure objectives are met.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Ensure project close-out is completed in accordance with customer requirements, maximising project profitability.

What we’re looking for

• Industry-recognised electrical qualification (trade or professional).
• Demonstrable experience with electrical installations in a construction environment and in a similar role.
• Specific experience on high-value building services projects (eg £10m).
