An established civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their growing team. Operating across Edinburgh and the central belt of Scotland, this business plays a key role in delivering infrastructure and housing projects at scale, with a strong reputation for reliability, technical excellence, and down-to-earth professionalism.

About the Role\n
As Senior Site Engineer, you'll cover multiple active sites across the East of Scotland. Your role will be pivotal in keeping teams aligned, resolving technical issues, and ensuring quality control processes are robustly followed. You’ll be a problem-solver, a communicator, and a technical lead who helps ensure that work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
You'll also be responsible for:

Managing engineering allocations and weekly work schedules
\n
Supporting and mentoring engineers across multiple live projects
\n
Producing and updating 2D site maps using AutoCAD for key build stages (roads, drainage, foundations, etc.)
\n
Attending site meetings, pre-starts, and regular cross-departmental briefings
\n
Reviewing engineering surveys and quality outputs before client handover
\n
Contributing to value engineering exercises and technical reviews during tender stage
\n
Creating key project documentation such as Traffic Management Plans, SWMPs, H&S plans, and methodology reports
\n
Reviewing design information and offering practical engineering solutions where needed
\n
Maintaining thorough documentation and correspondence archives for all active sites
\nWhat You'll Bring\n
We're looking for someone who brings technical expertise along with a pragmatic, team-oriented attitude. You should have:

Proven experience in a Senior Engineer or similar role within civil engineering or groundworks
\n
Strong AutoCAD skills and ability to prepare engineering drawings and plans
\n
Good understanding of drainage, utilities, piling, road construction, and general site engineering
\n
Confidence in liaising with clients, site teams, and directors
\n
A proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering
\n
A keen eye for quality assurance and compliance
\n
