Capital One is seeking experienced Software Development Engineers to join one of our web teams. The team maintains one of our largest web platforms and works with Product Owners to build features that help customers manage their credit accounts more easily. The team is rebuilding a new React application over 2024 to enhance the customer experience.

What you’ll do

• Work as part of a self-organised full-stack engineering team in the Acquisitions outcome area with a strong focus on customer experience and optimizing customer journeys to enable customers to apply for a card with ease.
• Collaborate across all 7 of Capital One’s partners to develop excellent customer experiences with partners such as ASOS, Post Office and Very.
• Take ownership of ambiguous problems and deliver scalable solutions across the stack.
• Help solve wider business problems, thinking at domain and system level to remove obstacles to day-to-day activities.
• Work to achieve the goals and vision shared by Product Management and Leadership.
• Innovate within your team, contribute in your technical domain, and drive improvements.

What we’re looking for

• JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js; open to equivalent technologies.
• Experience with modern web frameworks such as React.js or equivalent.
• Good understanding of Java and Spring Boot.
• CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Understanding and experience with AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality applications.
• Commitment to quality practices such as Pair Programming, TDD, and BDD.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to enable others within and outside the team.

Where and how you’ll work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. We promote collaboration, and you will be based in our offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
