About the role

HL is looking for a talented full stack Senior Software Engineer to join our Active Savings product development team. The Savings application allows HL clients to deposit cash into savings accounts offered by partner banks. It is a bespoke project with several functional components.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital client journeys
• Help define our technical direction to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications
• Write high-quality, secure, tested, and performant code
• Create and maintain automated tests
• Document solutions according to standards
• Support and maintain existing applications
• Continuously develop your technical and interpersonal skills
• Provide coaching and mentoring to peers and junior team members
• Promote continuous improvement in ways of working, quality, security, and CI/CD processes
• Engage in communities of practice to support development

About You

• Experience with Java 11+, Spring Boot, RDBMS, and SQL
• Experience with testing tools and practices
• Experience with CI/CD and Trunk Based Development
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing for system reliability
• Understanding of website performance and non-functional requirements
• Proficient in code reviews, documentation, and Agile practices
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Resourceful, proactive, and focused on delivery
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Enjoy coaching and knowledge sharing

Nice To Have

• Background in finance or banking
• Experience with Microservices and REST APIs
• Knowledge of TDD and BDD
• Test automation with Cucumber and Selenium
• Frontend development skills (HTML, CSS)
• Experience with JIRA and Atlassian tools
