Your Mission

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and lead the delivery of complex backend systems. You’ll mentor peers, influence technical direction, and ensure reliability, scalability, and security at every stage.

This role is about leadership in execution, ownership of outcomes, and shaping your product’s future.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Lead the design and delivery of complex backend systems with C#, .NET, CosmosDB, and MS Azure.

• Build high-performance APIs for integration across the Walr platform.

• Take ownership of system health, proactively resolving production issues and ensuring resilience.

• Set and uphold technical standards across the team, promoting maintainable and scalable code.

• Drive architectural discussions, balancing technical excellence with business priorities.

• Mentor and coach engineers, multiplying team capability.

• Collaborate across teams (product, design, QA, customer success) to deliver solutions that delight clients.

• Step up as a technical leader in team ceremonies, knowledge-sharing sessions, and cross-team initiatives.

• Innovate by identifying technical improvements and introducing new tools or approaches.
• Influence hiring and onboarding to help build a high-performance engineering culture. 

Skills That Set You Up for Success

• 5+ years of experience designing and delivering complex backend solutions.

• Expertise in C# and .NET.

• Proficiency in building secure, scalable APIs.

• Strong background in cloud platforms (MS Azure preferred), microservices, and serverless architectures.

• Deep experience in DevOps/DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, observability, automation, and security.

• Proficiency with SQL & NoSQL databases (CosmosDB preferred).

• Experience leading technical discussions and setting direction.

• Strong product mindset, connecting technical work to customer and business value.

• Excellent communication skills, equally effective with technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus Points For

• Experience defining and establishing design standards and principles.

• Experience with SaaS platforms and complex data models.

• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Developer, CosmosDB Developer, DevOps Engineer, or Solutions Architect.
