The Senior Software Engineer role is a pivotal position within our dynamic software development team, carrying advanced technical responsibilities. Leveraging extensive expertise, senior engineers actively contribute to the design and architecture of Gentrack software systems, taking charge of coding and implementing complex components, and conducting rigorous code reviews. Beyond technical expertise this role is instrumental in mentoring and coaching junior team members and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Senior Software Engineers accurately address challenging technical problems, make substantial contributions to project management, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Their commitment to continuous learning and leadership qualities positions them as invaluable assets, playing a key role in the success of our software projects by guiding teams towards optimal solutions and aligning technical strategies with broader business objectives.

Design and implement high-level software architectures that meet the project's requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and efficient.
Actively participate in coding and development tasks, contributing to the implementation of critical components or features.
Solve complex technical problems, debug issues, and optimize code for performance.
Define and implement effective testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing, to ensure the quality of the software.
Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the software development process.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them solve complex problems and improve their skills.
Assist in the onboarding process for new team members, helping them become familiar with the codebase, development processes, and team dynamics.
Collaborate with other development teams on shared components or projects, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on current and future projects.
Assess and recommend appropriate technologies and tools for the development stack based on project requirements and industry trends.
What were looking for (you dont need to be a guru at all, were looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you)
Depth and breadth of software development expertise (at least 5 years of intensive professional experience) as a Software Engineer developing commercial software using Java
Proficiency in programming languages relevant to the organization's tech stack (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript)
Strong understanding of software architecture, object oriented and microservicedesign patterns, and best practices.
Knowledge of database systems and data modelling (MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience working in cloud environments, AWS is highly preferred.
Familiarity with C# .NET, Blazor, MudBlazor material design, is nice to have
Bachelors degree in computer science, science, software engineering or comparable professional development and commercial experience
