Overview

Spectrum.Life is a whole-of-health digital partner delivering clinically backed digital health, mental health and wellbeing solutions. We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help design and build upcoming features in our roadmap. You will work on a range of tasks from business-as-usual requests, multi-tenanted products, greenfield projects and bespoke client projects. You will influence our frontend ecosystem and wider architecture, building robust systems from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Front-end Development: design, develop and deploy responsive, modular components using modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue).
• Build reusable components that pull from a modern accessible design system.
• Leverage TypeScript to ensure high maintainability and scalable solutions.
• Integrate with third-party libraries for navigation, forms, state management and API layers.
• End-to-end Ownership: design and provide feedback on product architecture for full feature lifecycles; help set frontend quality standards across React, React Native and Vue applications.
• Best Practices & Operations: manage local development environments, provide data contract feedback to backend, implement testing, exception handling and monitoring, and collaborate to maintain high code quality.

Requirements

• Fluent English speaking and written communication
• 5+ years with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (Vue.js, React.js, etc.)
• Experience translating Figma designs into modular components aligned with a Design System
• Experience with state management (Context, VueX, Redux, Zustand)
• Experience with Test Driven Development and unit, component, and integration tests
• Ability to discuss data contracts between frontend and backend
• Exposure to React Native and/or Expo for mobile apps
• Experience in an agile environment using Scrum and tools like Jira/Confluence
• Experience working in cross-disciplinary teams (Design, Data, Product, Dev, Infrastructure)

Desirable

• Experience with testing frameworks (Puppeteer, Playwright)
• Experience with product analytics (Mixpanel, Amplitude)
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
• Frontend infrastructure, deployment, observability and maintenance experience
• Experience developing accessible solutions (WCAG)
• Interest in contributing to broader frontend technical quality at Spectrum
