Overview

MetalBear builds open-source developer tools for cloud engineers. Our flagship product, mirrord, allows developers to run local processes as if they were inside their cloud environment—without deployment or disrupting shared environments. The mirrord OSS is used by thousands of developers; our paid version is generating revenue, including from Fortune 500 companies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, implement, and optimize low-level systems for mirrord, including OS-level hooks and syscalls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless cloud development experiences.
• Write high-quality, testable Rust code; participate in code reviews; and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience with Rust programming language.
• Experience with low-level systems, OS hooks, and/or Linux kernel interfaces is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex software in a cloud development context.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience; Mid-Senior level.
