About Our Team

You will have the opportunity to solve problems end to end, from exploring new data sources for building features to designing and deploying predictive models. We work with terabytes of flights, events and news data and continuously add new data sources. The team looks for someone with strong technical knowledge in ML, statistics and software engineering, who can apply this knowledge to solve unusual problems and operate beyond their comfort zone.

About The Role

You’ll be part of our Software Engineering squads, performing complex research, design and implementation within a software functional area or product line. You will develop, refactor, fix, test and review new software functionality, improvements and bug fixes, and provide input to project plans, schedules and methodology for cross-functional software products. You will role model leadership for your squad and for Cirium engineering, foster an innovative culture, and engage with stakeholders to bring products to market. You will champion engineering practices and remain open to new ideas and technologies, including GenAI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, refactor, fix, test and review new software functionality, improvements, and bug fixes to flagship enterprise products.
  • Collaborate with the development team on design and code refactoring to maintain a quality code base.
  • Peer code review to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Test your own code and your colleagues' code; ensure code is tested before delivery.
  • Liaise with Customer Support to diagnose and solve problems.
  • Collaborate with team members to apply new ideas, practices, and tools to improve Cirium’s products and processes.
  • Write and review detailed documentation for the development of microservices.
  • Stay abreast of new technology developments and bring these into the business, particularly GenAI.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages and ability to work with complex data models.
  • Proficiency in development languages such as JavaScript, Node, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL and .NET.
  • Knowledge of test-driven development is desirable.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Ability to complete complex bug fixes.
  • Ability to share ideas and designs effectively via documentation or verbal communication.
