Working at Samsara means helping define the future of physical operations and contributing to a range of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. This is a remote position open to candidates in the UK and Poland. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role

• Lead the design and development of products and abstractions based on vehicle telematics data.
• Lead technical discussions to identify gaps in the telematics data platform and influence the roadmap by setting direction and recommending solutions.
• Collaborate with other full-stack teams to make design decisions and understand downstream implications for a seamless customer experience.
• Ship features that are immediately used by customers and iterate based on feedback.
• Deliver full-stack features across front-end, back-end and mobile. Tech stack components include Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React and React Native; direct experience with these technologies is not required.
• Maintain production systems owned by the team and provide operational support.

Minimum requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and building products in a skilled software engineering team.
• Demonstrated expertise in establishing data models and contracts in large organizations.
• Track record of leading design, development, deployment and maintenance of distributed, highly scalable software systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices within a technical lead capacity.
• Experience taking end-to-end ownership of product, feature designs, development and delivery of large-scale projects.
• Proactive growth mindset and willingness to improve the status quo.

An ideal candidate also has

• B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Experience building products using Machine Learning.
• Experience building customer-facing web and mobile workflow applications.
• History of driving significant value for customers and curiosity about customer needs.
• Willingness to iterate on new products based on customer feedback.
