Your New Role

The Global QA team helps span development, execution and reporting on various test activities related to the Global Warner Bros. Discovery product. They are responsible for technology, tools, and automation initiatives as they relate to QA activities, working with frontend client and backend service teams across US / EMEA / APAC. The QA team works closely with the Quality Engineering and Framework team to consume the QA-aaS pipeline and drive improvements to QA automation as we scale the global platform.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Scope and Complexity: Create and execute test cases for complex feature enhancements, validate user stories, and contribute automated tests building on existing code. Analyze test results to increase automated coverage and use existing tests built by senior automation engineers.
  • QA Fundamentals: Decide on test coverage for new features and release sign-off based on the team’s best practices, considering automation capabilities. Understand differences between unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Execution: Utilize black-box testing to execute test cases, document bugs, and use available tools (network monitoring, debug logs, performance dashboards) to validate acceptance criteria and aid debugging. Contribute to automated testing efforts.
  • Operations: Document new features from a testing perspective and own regression and release testing coordination.
  • Influence: Influence team processes and testing methodologies, communicating bug impact and severity to prioritize work.
  • Communication: Clear defect writeups and collaboration with developers, product managers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6-9 years of experience with automation testing, regression testing, UI/API testing, and related activities.
  • Experience driving test design and implementation.
  • Ability to write high-quality and stable automated test cases using existing frameworks.
  • Understanding of test cases, data, runs, and results management to provide feedback on coverage.
  • Effective collaboration with development teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to review automated test run results, triage failures and verify results.
  • Ability to organize test inventories to maximize coverage with minimal tests.
  • Must Have Experience with: UI Automation (Selenium/Appium), Mobile Automation (Appium or equivalent for Android/iOS), CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions), Source Code Management (GitHub/SVN), Test Case Management (Jira/TestRail).
  • Highly Desirable: Understanding of testing across device types/OS (Windows, macOS, iOS, tvOS, Android, Roku OS, Tizen, WebOS) and familiarity with unit, functional, integration, end-to-end, security, performance, load, and UI testing; awareness of AI testing trends.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a hybrid model combining remote and in-office work, subject to company policy and agreement with your line manager.
