Job Brief

Our backend engineering teams define and deliver our strategic technology roadmap and platform capabilities to support the entire business. With over 1.5 million customers and managing £12 billion in assets, we focus on resiliency, performance, scalability, and adaptability of our systems.

We are hiring for the following teams:

• Lightning Team: Focused on shaping and executing our strategic technology roadmap, designing, building, and maintaining core platforms.
• Investment Platform Team: Ensures seamless operation of our investment platform, building features that benefit our customers.

These positions offer the opportunity to contribute to impactful, high-visibility projects in a collaborative environment that values technical excellence. A strong understanding of fundamental concepts is essential, though expertise in every tool or technology is not required.

What You’ll Do

• Hands-on coding to solve complex problems focusing on resilience and performance.
• Create robust technical solutions for vague business requirements.
• Take initiative to course-correct projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build new features.
• Participate in planning and prioritization.
• Own your code from inception to deployment, following continuous delivery.
• Support live incidents as required.
• Support, coach, and mentor team members.
• Share knowledge through documentation and architectural decisions.
• Contribute to wider engineering designs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication of complex ideas.
• Ability to work independently and in agile teams.
