Senior Software Engineer, Product Security Engineering - London Stock Exchange Group

New Today

Overview

The LSEG DevSecOps Engineering team inside the cyber security division is looking for Senior Software Engineers to build tools and automations to help secure software development for thousands of developers across the group.

You will be working as part of a geographically distributed remote team comprising of security engineers and software engineers. Our team's mission is to allow engineers to embed security best practices frictionlessly as part of their day to day work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with security engineers and software engineers to build tools and automation that secure software development across the organization.
  • Embed security best practices into day-to-day development workflows to enable frictionless security.
  • Participate in security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability management across diverse technology stacks.
  • Contribute to the design and development of full-stack products (web applications, APIs, CI tooling, or low-level software) with security in mind.
  • Work with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes) with a focus on security; apply infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
  • Address supply chain security risks and mitigations within the SDLC.
  • Automate security tools, processes, and controls for web apps, APIs, and CI/CD integrations.
  • Communicate effectively to advise and educate engineers on secure coding and remediation.
  • Utilize knowledge of common algorithms and data structures to handle large data sets and build data-intensive systems; analyze large datasets for security monitoring, detection, or incident response.

As part of this role, you will gain exposure to all parts of the business that build software across a wide range of technologies (from low-level C++ to high-level TypeScript web apps to new cloud technologies). This is an ideal role for a polyglot technologist looking to make a large impact on securing software in the group.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of cyber security principles, secure software development, and threat modeling.
  • Experience conducting security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability management across diverse technology stacks.
  • Experience in building full-stack products (web applications, APIs, CI tooling or low-level software).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes), with a focus on security.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of supply chain security risks and mitigation strategies in the SDLC.
  • Ability to build and automate security tools, processes, and controls (e.g., web apps, APIs, CI/CD integrations).
  • Strong communication skills for advising and educating engineers on secure coding and remediation.
  • Knowledge of common algorithms and data structures for dealing with large quantities of data (e.g., building data-intensive systems).
  • Experience analysing large datasets for security monitoring, detection, or incident response.

Note: You do not need all the skills listed above to qualify. We are primarily interested in security-minded professionals with a strong interest in secure software development.

Join us and be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. If you are ready to take your career to the next level and make a significant impact, we’d love to hear from you.
