Senior Software Engineer - Trading (Ref: 6-466)

Referment is working with a leading global hedge fund who are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Equity Technology team. This team builds and supports a world-class suite of tools for their flagship Fundamental Equities business, spanning the entire investment lifecycle, from research and portfolio construction through to trading and compliance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled engineer to work directly with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and technologists to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that drive real business impact. The successful candidate will be passionate about solving complex problems, building cloud-native applications, and pushing the boundaries at the intersection of finance and technology.

Responsibilities

• Partner with portfolio managers, researchers, and technology teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment to translate business requirements into scalable software.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack cloud-native applications (C#, Python, Go, gRPC, React).
• Work with data management and analytics platforms such as Snowflake and ClickHouse.
• Balance feasibility, stability, scalability, and time-to-market when delivering solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• 8+ years’ professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming (C# or Java essential).
• Experience with Python, AWS, MSSQL, Snowflake, ClickHouse.
• Exposure to finance (particularly equities) strongly preferred.
• A humble team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Tech and Environment

Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications using modern languages and tools aligned with the team’s standards.
