You will be joining our expanding Building Structures team as a Senior Engineer. You will play a key role in the management of our projects and supporting the technical leadership within our team and in the delivery of our designs from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client.
In This Role You’ll Have The Opportunity To
- Develop innovative and sustainable designs from concept for a range of challenging projects, including major hospital redevelopments, universities, and international projects with national and local architects, as well as surveys, inspections and reporting for clients.
- Lead and manage single and multi-disciplinary design projects from concept to detailed design, coordinating with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants.
- Contribute to the growing order book and overall project delivery.
You’ll be joining a diverse and talented team who work together to:
- Take a strategic lead on large multi-disciplinary projects and provide bespoke structural solutions to niche and architectural-led concept designs.
- Form strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external design consultants, stakeholders and clients.
- Create forward-looking design solutions using the latest digital techniques and technologies.
- Provide sustainable development solutions from site selection through to detailed design and construction.
- Offer specialist advice and design solutions addressing sustainable design and net zero carbon aspirations, supporting MMC & DfMA solutions.
Reporting to a senior member of the team, you will work on high-profile multi-disciplinary development projects across sectors including airports, commercial & mixed use, retail, education and healthcare. We have a broad client base spanning private and public sectors, with regional, national and international reach. This is a fantastic opportunity to join WSP as part of an expandingStructures Team in Scotland.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- Successful design delivery, particularly in concept design and project inception stages, preferably in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Ability to improve working practices, proactively manage requirements and risks, and influence others to deliver successfully.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership potential to communicate effectively with project team members, stakeholders and clients.
Our engineers are typically working towards Chartered status before reaching Senior Engineer level as a Chartered Engineer.
