From tunnels to bridges, from geotechnics to rail, we bring our expertise to solve complex engineering challenges for our key clients.We’re now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer - Underground Structures to join our collaborative and high-performing team in London.What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll play a key role in delivering innovative structural engineering solutions on large-scale UK and international projects. Responsibilities include:Undertake and lead assignments in the UK and overseas on underground structures and tunnelling projectsAssist Market Sector Directors to source and develop business opportunities, producing tenders, and build client relationshipsAssist and support the development and maintenance of a high level of technical capability to deliver the service offerings targetedDeliver engineering solutions and report results to managers and clientsUndertake structural design and analysis using design software across a broad range of structural types and using various international standardsMonitor staff time and budgets against assignment programme and agree appropriate actions where necessaryAssist in the management of the design process that may include other related design disciplines/teamsAssist with coordinating design as part of an internal team and liaising with external associated professionals and our clientsAssist with the organisation and management of the technical staff, acting as a line manager as required, supporting staff recruitment, training, CPD and implementation of ‘Best Practice’ and proceduresSupport Graduates through the processes and requirements for completion of their ChartershipMaintain strong relationships with other disciplines within the firmWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who brings technical experience and ideally, you’ll have:Professionally qualified and Chartered Civil Engineer, ideally with a post graduate qualification in a relevant subjectKeen interest and experience in underground structures and tunnellingExtensive knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant and international industry standards, contracts, methodologies and proceduresExperience at Assignment Manager and Designer level with a proven record of managing and delivering assignments to programme and budgetExperience predominantly in large scale (c.£100m+), high profile infrastructure projects, for a range of Clients in various construction market sectorsKnowledge and experience in structural analysis/finite element software such as LUSAS, AutoCAD, FagusProgramming / scripting knowledge such as VBA or Python is advantageousProven ability to build, maintain and develop relationships with clientsProven track record of business development, delivering against set objectives and achieving company targetsPeople management experience e.g. general employee welfare, carrying our appraisals, training and development, involvement in resourcing and recruitment activities would be beneficialAbility to identify and act on opportunities for growth on assignmentsWhat’s in It for You?Competitive salary and benefits package (pension, profit share, medical insurance, etc.)Hybrid working options for better work-life balanceSupportive team environment with a strong focus on wellbeingOngoing training, CPD, and career developmentOpportunities to work on technically challenging projects across the UK and globallyA vibrant Sports & Social Club that organises events, games, entertainment, and recreational activities to promote camaraderie and fun outside of workPaid volunteer days, French lessons, and more!Want to know more?
