We're currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our well-established Structures team in Glasgow. You will work alongside a talented and supportive team of engineers, gaining hands-on experience and mentoring from senior engineers. The Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and delivering structural engineering projects across multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, retail, and industrial projects. You will play a key role in liaising with clients, coordinating with other disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers as part of a growing team. The role offers fantastic potential for career progression and is ideal for an engineer looking to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural design and analysis for a variety of projects across different sectors, including education, healthcare, retail, and more.
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders, maintaining effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage and coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and providing guidance.
  • Undertake technical design reviews and ensure designs meet relevant standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and schedule management.
  • Develop and prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, sustainability, and quality standards throughout projects.
  • Assist with business development, contributing to proposals and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to support your progression towards chartership.


What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • A number of years experience in structural engineering, ideally working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
  • Strong experience in structural design, with proficiency in software such as Tekla SD, Tedd’s, MasterSeries, and ETABS.
  • Knowledge of Revit would be beneficial for understanding models.
  • Experience managing and coordinating projects and teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
