Overview

Senior Structural Engineer — Winchester. Salary: £50k-£55k plus benefits. This role offers a wide variety of buildings structures projects, including large complex schemes up to multi‑million pounds, as well as smaller local clients. Our client is ideally seeking a Chartered, or near Chartered, engineer with experience at senior engineer level who can provide a wide range of structural engineering services, including surveys of commercial and industrial buildings and the design of blue light service buildings and multi‑storey developments. This is a client‑facing role, so good communication is key, but you will retain hands‑on design skills and will run and manage projects from concept to completion. Design experience in concrete and steel and the ability to use software packages such as Tekla, Tedds and Scia is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects from concept to completion with direct client liaison.
  • Perform surveys of commercial and industrial buildings as part of the service offering.
  • Design concrete and steel structures, including blue light service buildings and multi‑storey developments.
  • Apply hands‑on design skills while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating project teams.
  • Ensure technical quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Chartered engineer, or near Chartered, with experience at a senior engineer level.
  • Proven ability to deliver a wide range of structural engineering services.
  • Experience in surveys of commercial/industrial buildings.
  • Design experience in concrete and steel structures.
  • Proficiency with Tekla, Tedds, and Scia or similar software.
