Senior Engineer (Structural / Chartered) Location: Newcastle
Role Overview
We are partnering with a well‑established engineering practice to recruit a Senior Chartered Engineer. The successful candidate will report to a Section Lead and will play a key role in technical leadership, project delivery, and growing the practice.
Key Requirements & Attributes
Chartered status (e.g. CEng, MICE or MIStructE) Strong track record of technical excellence and design rigour Demonstrable experience in overseeing structural engineering projects High level of personal responsibility and commitment beyond minimum contractual expectations Ability to generate new business through building relationships and networking
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee projects and lead staff allocated to them. Support the Section Lead in supervising the team. Coach non‑chartered engineers and technicians. Foster development of technical skills, efficiency, and professional growth. Lead feasibility studies, conceptual design, technical supervision, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance of finished structures. Translate architectural or client visions into functional and buildable structural designs. Assist in coordinating office resources; contribute to regular reports on resource use and project load.
