We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our Shandon Housing Support Services team in Edinburgh.

Role overview

The Senior Support Worker will support the management team in developing and maintaining the organisation’s standards relating to autism-specific, person-centred practices and the implementation of the service development plan. The SSW will liaise with the practice support team and assist in the preparation of support and communication plans, ensuring consistent practices throughout support networks. The post holder will also commit to on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and directing the staff team to maintain high standards of support in line with the organisation’s quality standards and mission statement.
  • Ensure knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the social care sector and the requirements of the Care Inspectorate is applied.
  • Support in the development and implementation of service development plans and practice guidance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of support and communication plans and uphold consistent practices across support networks.
  • Be available for on-call duties as required.

Requirements

  • Registration with PVG Scheme and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or equivalent regulatory body is required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable groups.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Ability to work a pattern that includes on-call duties.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and regulations in the social care sector and Care Inspectorate requirements.
