Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.Your New Role...The Senior Systems Engineer position requires in depth knowledge and expertise in live production systems (traditional, software defined, and cloud based) along with an advanced understanding of the advanced IT systems required to support both linear and non-linear production.This position will be expected to take the lead (including project management and training) on complex projects that touch varying types of live production environments and act as subject matter expert and resource for the tier 1 and tier 2 support teams as required.The successful applicant will be extremely proficient in one or more of the following areas and seen by their peers as a subject matter expert.This position is required to be fully fluent in video and audio routing, both in an IP Core based routing environment. (Uncompressed & compressed SMPTE-2110, JXS, AVC/HEVC etc) and a traditional SDI environment as well. They will require a strong understanding of control layers and the programming and configuration with various vendors.Demonstrate a strong knowledge base of SDN systems, layer2 and layer3 network environments and control surfaces.Evaluate new technologies and how they can or cannot work in a live production environment.This position requires an advanced understanding of live production workflows for sports, entertainment, and news in particular source acquisition work-flows in and out of a live production environment.Your Role Accountabilities...Architectural Design and Execution:The Senior Systems Engineer will be expected to perform system design, quotation and implementation including specification of all equipment and materials required, preparation of a bill of materials and the submission of cost estimates and justification to the senior leadership team.Once a project is approved to progress the Senior Systems Engineer will oversee the integration of the new system and in most cases be responsible for the configuration of all components managing any relationships with third-party or internal partners/vendors.The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing system overviews and training therefore excellent communication skills are a must.Engineering SupportThis position is expected to lead the support the live production enterprise at a very high level when needed, lead major incident calls (could be expected to act as the Incident Manager if appropriate) and be a source of knowledge for Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams as needed. They are expected to create training opportunities either through mentorship, training or creating knowledgebase article.Workflow efficienciesDefine new and creative ways to implement workflow changes to gain efficiency for the business by engaging with peers, the team and customers with innovative and cost-effective solutions.Qualifications & Experience...An Associate degree with equivalent experience will be consideredThis position requires a Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, electrical/electronic engineering or related discipline.Applicants should have a minimum of ten years of experience in live production projects and/or maintenance or eight to ten years of experience in advanced IT support/systems design that support live production.The position prefers an individual with experience of virtualized compute and storage infrastructures and systems, Broadcast Automation, Play-to-air broadcast systems (including automation and play-out servers) and live studio and master control environments and an advanced understanding of Graphics for production, Recognized by their peers as a subject matter expert.Effective communicator with Senior Executives, Clients and VendorDemonstrated understanding of fiber optic technology and broadcast satellite systemsHybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
