Senior Engineer – Technical Services — Cumbria (Hybrid)

Are you an engineer with hands-on experience maintaining and inspecting complex equipment? Looking for a role that combines technical depth with real-world impact?

We’re working with a specialist technical services provider to recruit a Senior Engineer to lead on rig, asset, and equipment maintenance across a range of field-based operations.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your mechanical or electrical engineering skills to cutting-edge survey and inspection work in critical national infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the inspection, servicing, and management of high-value field equipment, including custom rigs and mobile assets
  • Ensure equipment reliability and compliance through planned maintenance and health & safety procedures
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices for asset integrity and field safety
  • Provide hands-on technical support and oversight during field operations, ensuring smooth deployment of equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and data teams to drive performance and innovation

What we’re looking for

  • Strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering – engines, vehicles, drones, or field systems
  • Experience in inspection, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical assets or complex equipment
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work
  • Able to take ownership of equipment strategy while also rolling up your sleeves when needed
  • A full driving licence and willingness to support field work as required

This hybrid role is based in Cumbria, with flexible working and regular site involvement. Ideal for someone from a military, utilities, inspection, or asset maintenance background looking to step into a varied and impactful engineering role.
