Key Responsibilities for the Senior Tooling Development Engineer: Develop and refine product designs using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or equivalent). Design and specify tooling solutions to support new product introduction (NPI). Liaise with toolmakers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing teams to ensure tooling suitability, efficiency, and robustness. Conduct feasibility studies and design-for-manufacture (DFM) assessments. Support prototype builds, pre-production trials, and product validation testing. Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and BOMs. Contribute to continuous improvement activities across tooling, processes, and product designs. Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. Required Skills for the Senior Tooling Developmengt Engineer Engineering Qualifications to support experience Demonstrable experience in tooling design and development within a manufacturing environment. Strong 3D CAD modelling and 2D technical drawings. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g Pressings, Assembly CNC machining) Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and structured engineering approach. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
