They are looking for a Senior Traffic Signals Engineer to join their established Traffic & Highways teams and to support their rapidly expanding workload. The large majority of this work is currently located across the Midlands region, but the role can be based within their Highways teams in either Leicester, Leeds or Birmingham.

About the role
Working within an existing team of traffic signal engineers, you will quickly take on responsibility for the design and delivery of your own allocated schemes, being the clients’ main point of contact for each of these projects.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Producing signal junction layout designs and specifications to current UK standards
Undertaking capacity assessments using LinSIG and preparing outputs for in client reports and specifications.
Understanding client requirements for signal design and assessment
Client liaison and providing assistance with the preparation of proposals
Project management of schemes to ensure all work is delivered to necessary standards, within budget and within project deadlines.
Analysing, collating and interpreting transport data
Undertaking site visits and attending both internal and external project review meetings
Providing technical advice to support colleagues
Helping to develop and mentor junior team members
About you
Our client is looking for an experienced Traffic Signalling Engineer or a Highways Design Engineer who has the skills and interest to transition into this role. An ambitious and versatile individual with a genuine interest in transport consultancy. You will ideally be able to demonstrate:
A good understanding of current UK design standards and guidance
A demonstrable working knowledge of LinSig & TRANSYT signal junction modelling theory and methods
Competent user of AutoCAD and AutoTrack for junction design
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis, reports and drawings
Knowledge of traffic data collection and analysis
Experience of developing and maintaining client relationships
Above all, they are looking for someone with the following qualities:

Focus on results and project delivery
Full, clean UK driving licence and ideally access to a vehicle
Qualifications
Degree or MSc in relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering)
Professional Membership (e.g. MIHE, MCIHT, MTPS or MCILT)
