We’re an organisation that likes to give back, so you’ll also have one charity day allocated to support a cause that matters to you.**About You:**We are seeking a L3 Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in an engineering team that is responsible for the operation of critical platforms supporting thousands of customers and millions of citizens. You will be at the heart of the team that designs, builds and operates modern, secure, high availability and high-performance payments processing platforms and other key solutions that maximise the efficiency of operations of our customers.The platforms that you will be working on support organisations across the UK, from enabling payments for major clean air initiatives such as the congestion charge and ultra-low emissions zones in London, enabling local authorities to support vulnerable citizens, and enabling payments for the BBC license fee. While doing this you will be delivering innovative changes that support Open Banking, payment wallets and alternative payment methods.These platforms are private cloud, using the latest technologies to ensure that they deliver excellent service to our customers. Some of them are integrated into telephony solutions to deliver payment processing services.**Day-to-day, you will:*** Design, deploy and maintain Windows-based servers, applications, and virtual environments, ensuring secure and resilient infrastructure.* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and lead recovery efforts to maintain high availability of payment and telephony platforms.* Automate processes with PowerShell and other tools, implement proactive monitoring, and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and security standards.* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on integrations, provide technical support, and participate in on-call/out-of-hours support.**Skills & experience you bring:*** Strong Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, SQL Server, .NET), with experience in VMware and system monitoring tools.* Background in secure, high-availability environments, with knowledge of PCI-DSS, disaster recovery, clustering, and networking fundamentals.* Scripting skills (PowerShell), plus experience with automation, system integration, and performance optimisation.* Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills, with a DevOps mindset and willingness to learn new technologies (Linux, cloud, telephony).The Access Group is one of the largest UK-headquartered business management software providers.
