Contract Senior/Principal Bridge Engineer Position Outside IR35 / Chartership Required / 6 months

This role is based in Birmingham and you will be required on site every day.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading design joint venture delivering a critical section of HS2. This is a key site-based role, offering the opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK's most high-profile engineering programmes.

The Role As part of the on-site team, you will represent the designer in supporting the successful delivery of complex structural works. Acting as the technical point of contact, you will:

Respond to bridge and structural technical queries from site teams. Review and manage Field Change Requests (FCRs) and Non-Conformance Records (NCRs), ensuring all responses are clear, compliant, and aligned with design requirements and standards. Attend Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) with the client's engineer, providing practical solutions to design and constructability challenges. Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure compliance with project and quality requirements. Contribute to design meetings with designers, delivery teams, and quality representatives. Provide input into temporary works certificates where they may impact permanent works design. Report regularly to the Technical Lead, updating on progress and any foreseeable technical issues.About You
