My Client are recruiting for a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in the Water Sector\n\nThe location for this role will be in our Birmingham office, however we will also consider applications for our Hemel Hempstead office, or potentially Ireland.\n\nWe are looking to recruit a Senior/Principal Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Water design team. The successful candidate will join a growing team, with opportunity to shape the direction of an expanding business to meet the challenges of the AMP8 programme, as well as strategic development for AMP9 and beyond.\n\nThe Principal Design Engineer (Mechanical) will have a client facing role. An example of some of the responsibilities for the role as the business needs require are as follows:\n\nLead and develop a team of junior engineers, based in multiple locations\nLead the mechanical design of water projects, including wastewater treatment, clean water treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, and biosolids treatment\nDesign & project management from conceptual phase through to project completion, ensuring all designs are produced to applicable client standards\nDevelopment of preliminary and detailed design calculations.\nDevelopment of design drawings and specifications.\nDevelopment of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design reports.\nBalance of plant design.\nDesign and implementation of energy saving projects.\nAttend and participate in HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies \n\nThe Principal Design Engineer (Mechanical) will have the opportunity to progress their career within the business to be involved in the various business sectors to provide experience across a wide range of projects.\n\nExperience and Qualifications\n\nThe ideal candidate will have:\n\nEngineering degree (Hons bachelors degree or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.\nExtensive post-graduate and relevant design experience.\nChartered Engineer (CEng) with relevant Institution\nExperience in the Water Industry\nExcellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.\nGood academic record\nFull clean driving license and own transport required.\nFluent written and spoken English is essential.\nExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
