Overview / Purpose of the Role
As part of a team of Electrical Maintenance Engineers, you'll ensure a proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns across two manufacturing sites, working on a 7-day shift pattern (6-2 / 2-10 rotating shifts) with additional weekend cover via a call-out rota.
You'll support the Operations team to achieve production targets by minimising downtime, increasing asset reliability, and driving efficiency through continuous improvement. This role is key to ensuring timely responses to breakdowns, effective planned maintenance, and ongoing compliance with the site's PPM schedule.

Responsibilities & Duties
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times, following all safe systems of work
Support a culture of safety awareness to reduce accidents and near misses
Ensure the site achieves and maintains GMP standards
Provide weekday cover and weekend rota support, with overtime available
Attend machinery breakdowns, recording all actions on CMMS (Shire)
Deliver first-line maintenance support to manufacturing departments
Monitor line performance to improve efficiency
Complete planned/scheduled maintenance tasks and record on CMMS (Shire)
Provide feedback to improve planned maintenance systems
Order spare parts and liaise with Engineering Stores
Liaise with contractors and issue permits (if trained)
Support with machinery installation and decommissioning
Undertake proactive and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance
Diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns efficiently
Escalate and communicate effectively when further support is required
Carry out equipment safety and maintenance inspections
Ensure work complies with statutory and safety requirements
Maintain plant/equipment to produce high-quality products efficiently
Support other departments with training and day-to-day running of the factory
Train and coach colleagues as required
Identify personal training needs and work with management to achieve them
Contribute to continuous improvement projects, enhancing safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
Communicate daily with Team Leaders & Managers regarding priorities
Cover for Team Leader when required
