About the Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Shift Engineer to join Jumeirah Carlton Tower. The main duties and responsibilities are:

• Have full knowledge of the company’s procedures and policies and adhere to them.
• Check that all mechanical and electrical systems and tools are working and in good repair at all times.
• Respond to and rectify emergency maintenance faults raised on the maintenance reporting platforms or software, prioritising those which impact Health & Safety, guests or guest service; ensure response times are met and follow up with the guest once complete.
• Update the maintenance reporting platform while on duty adhering to system use procedures.
• Undertake regular daily patrols of the hotel front and back of house to identify corrective repair works (e.g., replacement of light bulbs in public areas).
• Report any fire life safety matters immediately to your manager or, in their absence, the security or duty manager.

About you

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Electrical or Mechanical UK trade qualification.
• Experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering issues promptly and effectively, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted hotel operations.
• In-depth understanding of local and industry-specific regulations and compliance standards related to building codes, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members, other hotel departments, and external contractors; ability to convey technical information clearly.
