My client is currently recruiting at their plant in St Dennis, Cornwall for a

Shift Engineer

and are particularly interested in hearing from ex Royal Navy Marine Engineers with either Mechanical or Electrical bias. This is a shift-based role rotating on a 6 week basis covering days, lates, nights and weekends. Shift Engineer

Responsibilities: Operate the facility whilst working within a shift system ensuring site rules and contractual requirements are adhered to and met. Liaise with relevant contractors and suppliers including ordering/receiving/recording spares/fuel and support services as required. Assist in planned and unplanned maintenance in all areas of the facility. Carry out isolations and issuing of safety to work documents up to 400KV. Attend plant meetings or breakdowns when required which may be outside of normal working hours. Provide cover support within the shift rota. Shift Engineer

Requirements: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background with experience of working in a similar environment. Must have strong electrical skills. Hold a relevant engineering qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or maritime engineering. NVQ Level 3 will be accepted as a minimum. Ability to be trained as an Authorised Person to 400 KV. Experience within a maintenance environment with the ability to carry out planned/unplanned maintenance and respond to breakdowns. IT literate. Shift Engineer
