Shift Maintenance Engineer – East London (E16)

Monday–Friday, 3-Shift (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6). Salary: £60,000 + overtime. Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. Due to growth and CI projects at the site, they are looking for a number of multi-skilled shift engineers to join their production and packaging team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and safety checks on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, conveyors, metal detectors, labellers, baggers, and checkweighers.
• Perform PLC, control panel, robotics, and depositor electrical and mechanical fault finding, repairs, strip downs and overhauls.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, VSDs/inverters, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, drives and bearings.
• Improve plant availability and reliability; participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Monitor contractors on site and assist with ordering spares and parts.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with ideally a recognised apprenticeship and HNC/HND qualification in Engineering.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with industrial processing equipment and manufacturing systems; preferably within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures would be beneficial.
• Experience on motors, sensors, inverters/VSDs, gearboxes, pneumatics, drives.
• Experience using SAP would be beneficial.
• PLC exposure is advantageous; experience in ATEX/CompEx environments would be great.
