A global Tier 1 Automotive manufacturer in the Shropshire area are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their impressive site in Telford on a three-shift pattern
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in a modern and automated site, you will be part of the Quality team and collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to drive continuous quality improvement and resolve quality-related issues.

Role: Quality Engineer
Location: Telford
Salary: £46,200
Shift: Three shift pattern
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and mentor Shift Quality Technicians and Auditors by setting daily priorities and acting as the primary shift contact for quality matters.
Support the launch of new programs and engineering changes, including PPAP submissions and GP12 activities, in collaboration with NPI (Safe Launch Process).
Conduct capability studies and oversee gauge validation through Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Interpret CAD drawings, customer standards, and dimensional reports to understand and meet application requirements.
Update and maintain process documentation, including Standardized Work Instructions, Process Quality Records, and Quality Alerts.
Escalate quality concerns appropriately and ensure timely resolution.
Perform internal quality audits as required.
Lead containment, escalation, and root cause analysis of internal and customer quality issues.
Deliver on all commitments and escalate any issues promptly.
Utilize the MES Quality Management System to track and manage quality data.
Provide both technical and administrative support across departments.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote and uphold company Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies throughout the facility.
Perform additional duties as assigned.Required Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
Proven quality experience within a shopfloor manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes in areas such as die casting, metal forming, automated assembly, mechanisms, tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
Proficiency in quality tools including SPC, MSA, PPAP, Control Plans, Process Flows, and 8D methodologies.
Familiarity with Business Operating Systems (e.g., IATF 16949).
Strong communication and reporting skills, adaptable to all levels of the organization.Desirable:
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
Green Belt qualification or equivalent experience.
Background in quality management systems, procedures, and internal auditing.
Experience conducting internal quality audits.Personal Attributes:
Results-driven with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Adaptable, flexible, and capable of handling changing priorities.
Professional and confident in communicating with customers and senior stakeholders.
