Site Engineer
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Site Engineer will be involved in all aspects of the contract as part of the technical site team, with emphasis on control of the works and technical advice.
As Site Engineer, you will be required to have a strong commercial awareness, reporting any items of financial effect and opportunity to the quantity surveyor (QS) and carry out the work in accordance with company standard procedures and discharge duties as listed in the Safety Policy.
You, will at all times, protect and present the image of the Company and promote it to Clients, Consultants, Sub-contractors and members of the public and will look for business opportunities for the Company.
Duties and Responsibilities
More specifically, the Engineer is responsible for the following:
Tender Stage
Give advice as required by the CM/PM and PD especially with regard to:
Existing site surveys:
Check levels and building(s) fit on site.
Interpretation of soil investigation:
What it means, i.e. Contamination, water table level, suitability for re-use of cut material, bearing strengths etc.
Cut and fill:
Check volumes and sequence
Develop plan with CM/PM
Drainage:
Check details of existing are correct
Review proposed New Scheme and advise CM/PM if it can be done better/more cost-effective solution
Finish levels:
Check proposed build up below structure and external areas are correct...

£50,000 - £60,000 /annum mileage, bonus, phone, laptop, hols
