Contract - Site Quality Engineer
Quality Engineer is key position within the Quality Function and will be responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, performance and continuous improvement of Site Quality Management and Control.
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, you will be responsible for day to day site operational Quality Management and Control for the projects and/or processes you are responsible for / supporting.
Quality Assurance & Control
Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) on-site in line with ISO 9001, ISO 19443 (nuclear), and site-specific requirements.
Carry out inspection and verification activities across site works – mechanical/electrical installation, concrete pours, civils, and fabricated assemblies.
Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and relevant Quality Plans.
Support timely close-out of Concession, Technical Queries, and engineering deviations, with supporting evidence.
Support the , review, and storage of Orbit Sheets, ensuring compliance with progressive inspection steps and defined hold points.
Manage and verify Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) – ensuring full traceability, correct documentation, and alignment with project configuration requirements.
Coordinate and support the capture of non-conformance reports (NCRs), perform root cause analysis (RCA), and track corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Participate in supplier inspections, source surveillance, and incoming goods quality control, where required.
Experience required
Ideally Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance or related subject
Client will ideally have AWE experience
Proven Engineering, Business Management, Manufacturing or related field
Nuclear Industry experience required
Knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 3834, EN1090
Lead/Internal Auditor in ISO 9001
NCR and management
Experience of working to Quality Control Grading
Experience of working in highly regulated industry
Experience and understanding of process improvement
Strong Practical Problem Solving skills being able to lead and facilitate activities leading to improvements.
6-sigma trained or trained in other problem solving (8D, 6-Sigma, 5S, 7W, etc)
Good working practice in Microsoft Office packages including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Membership of appropriate professional body (i.e. CQI) or willingness to attain.
Ability to secure BPSS and SC is a conditional requirement of this positionEngineering Qualification desirable
