Spinwell is recruiting for a Site Reliability Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

Responsibilities of the Site Reliability Engineer

• Support deployment and migration for services to RHEL8/9
• Develop and strengthen automation to support disaster recovery activities
• Support for existing & new UNIX infrastructure
• Optimisation of existing services & infrastructure
• Support and deploy Ansible Automation Platform
• Support Oracle Database 19c on Oracle Linux on KVM
• Support logging and observability stacks including time series databases
• Promote SLO/SLI measurement & tracking
• Support pipeline enhancements and deployments
• Engage and provide guidance to external teams on service consumption

Skills and Experience

• Significant and demonstrable commercial experience of Unix (RHEL 7/8/9 System administration, Red Hat Satellite administration, Automation – IAC Principles, Load Balancer technologies such as HAProxy and keepalived, Shell scripting including Bash and Perl)
• Strong experience with container creation and management
• Experience working with a CI/CD driven hybrid environment
• Experience with Monitoring and observability
• Experience of AWS Cloud-based services
• Knowledge of Agile working practices, including Kanban/Scrum, retrospectives, VFQ
• Customer-focused, proactive engagement
• Risk awareness, focused on risk reduction and mitigation
• Effective team working and technical decision making
• Designing and leading infrastructure projects
• Creativity in taking new approaches to problems, embracing innovation, and sharing knowledge with stakeholders
• Strong documentation skills
